Of course, you gotta wonder which came first:

Did disconnection from her own heart cause her to see no other purpose in life???

Or,

Did seeing the children struggling under the lack of parenting and passive fathering cause her to numb her heart and depart from wisdom???

You are so right on costs though, it costs close to a million dollars to properly raise a child in the 2000nds. You can dramatically cut the price tag to pull off that many children — but at the expense of the child’s growth and development.

I guess if you have a lot of daughters and their only purpose is to find a rich husband (Read: recipient of a million dollar growth and development) so they can pump out lots more babies, I guess this is a functional system.

But, then there are the sons who shoulder the same insane expectation without the benefit of that million dollar growth and development…

They go forth and multiply, claiming, “It must be the Lord’s will”, disregarding their own sensibility. I think having babies is another form of addiction for some, but with lifelong consequences and responsibility…not to mention cost is a myriad of arenas!

No kidding.

The right wing fundamentalists will stand silent and approving before this and yet rail against:

  • Pregnant teen parents saying they are too young to parent — yet at least the children of teen mothers have parents who are maternally/paternally bonded to and love them. These children are also being raised by teens — who are not even their parents.

  • Lesbian marriage saying that children need a father — yet these children are being raised by a whole team of females who are probably half as competent.

  • Gay marriage saying that children need a mother — ignoring that their children have two fathers where these kids essentially have none.

  • People who abuse their spouses — ignoring that neglect basically has the exact same impact and sometimes abuse actually has less in that at least there is some attention paid.

I’m not arguing against many of the deficits they are seeing, yet, as long as this family stays within the letter of the rules they demand everyone follow, they can ignore the glaring parallels of the same.

Matt. 23:24 “You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!”

Ya, Jesus got it right!!!
